AMC sponsors J-1 visas for medical training positions. This is the only visa type sponsored by AMC for such roles.
To apply for a visa, applicants must provide: A valid passport Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 Form or DS-2019 Form) Letter of admission from AMC Evidence of financial support Proof of ties to their home country Proof of SEVIS I-901 fee payment
Applicants must be eligible for the J-1 visa before starting their medical training at AMC. Failure to meet eligibility requirements may result in the offer for appointment being voided.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a type of off-campus work authorization for F-1 students. Before applying for OPT, students must obtain a new I-20 form from the International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS). The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will issue an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card to students who are approved for OPT.
