Alexandria University is an Egyptian university located in the coastal city of Alexandria. The university was founded in the year 1938 as a satellite campus of Fouad University and was granted independent university status in 1942. It adopted its present name post the Egyptian revolution of 1952. The university presently enrolls over 150,000 students and employs over 7000 staff.
