Academic Criteria
Applicants must possess a recognized high school diploma or equivalent, typically with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0. Certain programs—especially in engineering or sciences—may require higher GPAs or specific math and science prerequisites.
English Language Proficiency
Required minimum scores are:
IELTS Academic: 6.0 or higher
TOEFL iBT: 61 or higher
EmSAT Achieve English: 1100 or higher
AURAK’s English Language Training (ELT) program is available for applicants who don’t initially meet these benchmarks.
Additional Requirements
Applicants should submit the completed online application, high school transcripts, passport copy, passport-sized photos, and any additional documentation as directed.

Developed at the RAK Research & Innovation Center (RAKRIC), AURAK has created one of the world’s first high-precision solar tracking platforms, termed “Solar Island.” It floats on an air cushion and features advanced rotational capabilities accurate to 10⁻² degrees, capable of supporting up to 150 tons of load for concentrated solar applications. The design enables optimized energy harvest for both photovoltaic and thermal systems, with potential deployment both on land and offshore.
At AURAK’s SOLAB facility within RAKRIC, a solar thermal polygeneration (STP) system was conceptualized to deliver cooling, drinking water (via membrane distillation), and domestic hot water from a single integrated setup. Powered by evacuated-tube solar collectors, an absorption chiller, membrane distillation units, and heat exchangers, the system operates in multiple modes—cooling-only, co-generation, tri-generation, or cooling and purified water production. This integrated system maximizes solar fraction and reduces energy consumption, achieving distilled water output of ~2 L/hour sufficient for a family of five.
Within the ATAIC (Advanced Technology and Artificial Intelligence Center) Innovation Lab, student teams developed notable prototypes in response to regional AI/IoT challenges: • All-Terrain Rescue Drone — showcased in the “Drones for Good” competition • NFC-Based Room Access System • Intelligent Parking System These projects highlight AURAK’s focus on applied innovation and experiential learning in robotics, access control, and smart infrastructure.
