Below are the general admission requirements for prospective students:
    1.    Educational Background:

    •    High School Completion: Applicants must have successfully graduated from high school or possess an equivalent qualification from another educational system. 

    •    Alternative Assessment: Candidates who have not completed high school may be considered for admission through the college’s Prior Learning Assessment process. Interested individuals should contact the admissions office for more information. 

    2.    English Language Proficiency:

    •    Standardized Tests: Proficiency in English is mandatory for all programs. Applicants can demonstrate this by achieving minimum required scores in recognized English language tests. 

    •    Accepted Tests and Minimum Scores:

    •    International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Minimum overall score of 5.5.

    •    Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT: Minimum overall score of 46.

    •    Duolingo English Test (DET): Minimum overall score of 95.

    •    Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum overall score of 43.

    •    International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) Academic: Minimum overall score of 3.5.

    •    Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First (FCE): Minimum overall score of 160 or grade ‘C’.

    •    Cambridge Linguaskill: Minimum overall B2 level.

    •    Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment: Minimum overall score of 40.

    •    Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP): Listening 6, Speaking 6, Reading 5, and Writing 5.

    •    LanguageCert Academic: Minimum overall B2 level.

    •    Michigan English Test (MET): Minimum overall B2 level.

    •    EIKEN: Minimum placement of Grade Pre-1.

    •    Alternative Assessment: Arbutus College offers its own English Proficiency Test (EPT) free of charge for applicants who prefer to demonstrate proficiency through internal assessment. 

    3.    Application Process:

    •    Application Form: Complete and submit the official application form, available on the Arbutus College website.

    •    Supporting Documents: Provide a scanned copy of your passport and academic transcripts or certificates from your highest completed education level.

    •    Application Fee: Pay a non-refundable application fee of CAD 200. 

    •    Submission: Send the completed application form, supporting documents, and application fee receipt via email to the admissions office.
