Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS) offers Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs in American Legal Studies and Employment Law. The admission requirements for these programs are as follows:
First Degree in Law: Applicants must have earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school or a first degree in law from a foreign institution that allows them to practice law in their home country.
Application Form: Completion of the AJMLS LL.M. application form, which can be submitted electronically.
Application Fee: Payment of a non-refundable application fee of $50
Personal Statement: A 2–3 page personal statement detailing the applicant's interest in the LL.M. program, career goals, and reasons for pursuing advanced legal studies.(Emory Law)
Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV): An updated resume or CV outlining the applicant's academic and professional background.
Official Transcripts: Submission of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. For foreign-educated applicants, transcripts must be evaluated by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) Credential Assembly Service (CAS) or a similar credential evaluation service.
International applicants whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL or IELTS scores. However, if they have earned a degree from an institution where English is the language of instruction, they may request a waiver of this requirement.
