Austral University of Chile History

The Austral University of Chile is a research university located in Valdivia, Chile. It was established in the year in 1954, it is one of the eight original Chilean Traditional Universities.

The University has 11 faculties in a different department. The University has more than 776 administrative staff including 11,000 undergraduate students and postgraduate students.

Austral University of Chile Campuses

The Austral University of Chile, the main campus is settled in Isla Teja Campus, Valdivia. This campus has the facilities of administrative offices, Cine Club, botanical garden and most faculties are available. The second campus is in Miraflores located in Valdivia River. The third campus is in Puerto Montt where administration, speech and language pathology and aquaculture are taught.

Austral University of Chile Achievements

Austral University of Chile, Dr. Francisca Castillo, a graduate of the PhD program in Agricultural Sciences, currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Plant Nutrition and Genomics at the Faculty of Science of the Australe University of Chile, was honored a Travel Award to attend the 1st International Wheat Congress and participated in the Next Generation Wheat Breeders pre-conference workshop.

The University published several scientific journals. In these topics were covered in BOSQUE are managed by forestry resources, wood sciences, forestry ecology, and natural resources and rural development associated with forest ecosystems.

Austral University of Chile USP

The Austral University of Chile, in 2006 ranking of the "Best Universities within the Country", UACh received the best score in "teaching quality" of any Chilean university. The same article additionally listed UACh second solely to Universidad First State Chile in research quality and ranked the Valdivia-based University third place overall among Chilean universities. In the undergraduate ranking, nursing performed best with 3rd place, then medicine and agronomy at 4th place, then law at 7th place, kinesiology at 8th place and Business Administration at 10th place.
