Avignon University History                                        

Avignon University also known as Avignon Université is a French higher education establishment located in Avignon. The university was established by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303 and was shut during the French Revolution in 1792. The university was re-established in 1984 and currently enrols over 7500 students.
