Baruch College History

Baruch College is a part of the senior colleges in the CUNY system. It was founded in the year 1847 as a Free academy. The college was the first free public higher education institution. It became The City College of New York from the Free Academy. In the year 1968, it got independent University status and was renamed Baruch College.
