Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Belgorod State Technological University

The below information is required while
completing the university application :

A completed secondary education certificate (school leaving diploma) or its equivalent.

Submission of an application form + consent for personal data processing.

Copy of passport / identity document; in case of foreign applicants, translations/notarised versions into Russian.

Copy of secondary education certificate (transcript/mark-sheet) plus translation if issued abroad.

Entrance exams/tests relevant to the chosen field of study (for many bachelor programmes).

For international applicants: additional requirements such as attestation/legalisation of foreign educational documents (depending on origin) and possibly Russian-language test.

Designation as a Regional “Flagship” / Support University

In 2017, the university was granted the status of a regional “опорный вуз” (support/flagship university) in Russia. Simultaneously, BSTU emerged as one of the 51 leading Russian universities that won a nationwide competition to become a centre for innovation development.

In 2017, BSTU won two diplomas in the national student-initiatives competition among flagship universities: one for the youth engineering-racing team “SHUKHOV RACING TEAM” and one for the innovation vacation school “Naukograd NIKA”.

BSTU has achieved strong positions in national rankings: In the 2024 “100 best universities of Russia” (RAEX) list, the university was ranked 64th. In specific subject-domain rankings, BSTU took 8th place in “Construction”, 20th in “Chemical Technologies”, and 17th in “Land Transport Techniques & Technologies” in 2024. Also, in July 2025, BSTU was ranked 18th among IT-universities of Russia.
