  • Oakmeadians RFC : Oakmeadians RFC is a traditional community rugby club based in Meyrick Park, "the heart of Bournemouth" and the university has collaborated.
  • Poole Swimming Club : The Poole Swimming Club has a long history of helping and fostering the growth of members in the neighbourhood. In addition to helping each athlete, coach, and volunteer reach their own objectives, the club works to build a positive team culture within the community.
  • wessex volleyball : Geoff Allen founded the club in 1976 while coaching a junior ladies' squad. Soon after, a boys' squad was founded, and the junior sections have since served as the club's foundation. With Geoff as coach, the Club's men's and women's teams advanced through the ranks of the National League to reach their respective top levels.

The NCCA, which has two Oscar-winning alumni, is housed under BU's Faculty of Media & Communication. Marc Ardington won the prize for his work on the movie Ex Machina, while Andy Lockley has been nominated three times for Best Visual Effects for his work in Tenet, Inception, and Interstellar. According to the 2023 Animation Career Review, the NCCA is among the top three animation schools worldwide, ranking first in the UK and second in Europe.

Robin Boyden, a student of product design, showcased the device he created to increase the independence of swimmers with vision impairments in the pool. When a swimmer approaches the end of the pool, swim vision uses an infrared sensor to identify it. When the swimmer reaches a reference point, it sounds a warning through a speaker.
