Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at BRAC University

To be eligible for undergraduate admission at BRAC University, applicants must meet specific academic and procedural requirements. These include:

Educational Background: Applicants must have completed 12 years of schooling, including Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent qualifications. For O-Level and A-Level candidates, a minimum GPA of 2.5 in five O-Level subjects and two A-Level subjects is required, with no "E" grades accepted. 

Minimum GPA Requirements: A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required separately in both SSC and HSC examinations, including additional subjects. For O-Level and A-Level candidates, a minimum GPA of 2.5 in O-Level and A-Level subjects is required, with no "E" grades accepted.

Admission Test: All eligible applicants, unless exempted, are required to sit for a written admission test. Those who qualify in the written test will be called for an interview for final selection. 

English Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. This can be through previous education in English-medium institutions or standardized tests such as IELTS or TOEFL. 

Program-Specific Requirements: Some programs may have additional specific requirements. For instance, the Bachelor of Pharmacy program requires a minimum GPA of 4.00 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in both SSC and HSC examinations. 

Application Documentation: Applicants must submit a completed admission application form, original copies of academic transcripts and certificates, a statement from their home institution specifying the medium of instruction, a police clearance certificate from their country of origin or a No Objection Letter from their home institution, a valid passport, and medical certificates. 

Break in Studies: Candidates with a break of study for up to three years will be accepted at BRAC University. Only exceptional cases beyond three years should email [email protected]. Upon review and approval by the Chair of the Admissions Committee, they may proceed with the application.

  • Nigella World : In November 2024, BRAC University partnered with Turkish technology firm Nigella World to launch Bangladesh's first Blockchain Academy. The academy aims to build a skilled workforce in blockchain technology, with initial applications targeting advancements in agriculture and finance. The collaboration provides specialized training for students and faculty, positioning BRAC University as a regional leader in blockchain education and technology innovation. ​
  • BRAC Bank : Since 2022, BRAC University has been a proud education partner of Uddokta101, an initiative by BRAC Bank's women banking segment 'TARA.' The program offers a comprehensive entrepreneur accelerator aimed at helping aspiring women entrepreneurs succeed in business. BRAC University supports Uddokta101 through curriculum design, participant selection, course coordination, and providing distinguished faculty members for one-on-one mentorships. BRACU ALTER – Rescue Rover

BRACU ALTER is a rescue rover developed by the Laboratory of Space System Engineering and Technology (LaSSET) at BRAC University. The rover is designed to perform smart rescue operations and has qualified for the final round of RoboCup Rescue Robot League 2024, an international robotics competition. The team comprises members from diverse disciplines, including mechanical and manufacturing, control and AI, and electronics and firmware. BRACU Duburi is an autonomous underwater vehicle developed by BRAC University students. In 2023, it achieved the runner-up position at Robosub, one of the world's most prestigious robotics competitions. Duburi is capable of autonomous underwater navigation and machine learning-powered data collection. It can provide sustainable solutions for water pollution reduction, search-and-rescue missions, and autonomous monitoring and research in areas where human missions are impossible.
