BRAC University History

BRAC University abbreviated as BracU is a private higher education establishment located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed in 2001 on the American University model. The university has ever since grown to enrol over 11000 undergraduate and graduate students.

BRAC University offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Management, Data and Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Design, Education, Law, Life Sciences, Public Health, Governance and Development, and Education Development.

BRAC University also offers programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Economics and Social Sciences, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, English and Humanities, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Peace and Justice, Climate Change and Environmental Research, and Pharmacy.

BRAC University Campuses

BRAC University has an urban campus located in the capital city of Dhaka in Bangladesh. The campus is undergoing a massive development and many facilities are due to open in late 2021. The campus offers ultra modern facilities, student services, and student accommodation.

BRAC University USP

BRAC University is an averagely selective institution with an acceptance rate of 50 to 60% and the admissions are based on English Language proficiency tests, written examination, and an interview with the academic committee.

BRAC University also offers a range of scholarships programs which are either merit or need based. The BRAC Ford Scholarship program offers financial aid and tuition fee assistance in addition to living allowances and accommodation expenses as well.
