Student Support

The university’s Study Service Centre (SC) serves as the central hub for student advising—from enrollment and academic counseling to social and international student support. For international students, the International Student Support Team offers welcome week, buddy programs, intercultural workshops, and ongoing advisory services.

Student Life

With around 90 student associations and initiatives—including the engineering teams like Lions Racing, Akaflieg, and cultural groups like AkaBlas orchestra—campus life is vibrant and interdisciplinary. The Sandkasten initiative empowers students to propose and implement campus improvements, fostering a grassroots and creative environment.

Housing facilities (Accommodation)

While TU does not own dormitories directly, it partners with Studierendenwerk OstNiedersachsen, which provides student accommodation with over 4,500 beds in dorms across Braunschweig and surrounding regions. The university also offers guidance and resources for securing private and shared housing through local platforms and bulletin boards.

Student Safety

Emergency protocols are clearly communicated—112 for medical/emergencies, 110 for police. The university is fully accessible and inclusive, supported by a Diversity Office that assists with disabilities, chronic illness, or family responsibilities. The environment is well-supported by campus administration and student representation via AStA.

Career Support

The Career Service organizes workshops, company excursions, job fairs, and individual counseling to prepare students for internships and employment. Additionally, the Entrepreneurship Hub helps students develop startup projects and offers resources for technology-based business creation. Alumni networks and industry partnerships enable mentoring and job placement opportunities.
