Students must complete a set of courses across multiple subject areas called General Education.
Must include upper-division GE courses (at least 9 units) in certain subject areas after completing lower-division units.
Some GE course grades must meet minimum grade standards (e.g. “C-” or better in English, GE Area 1; for foreign language, etc.)
Total Units / Credit Hours
Minimum total of 120 semester units to graduate.
Minimum number of upper-division units (i.e., advanced level courses, usually junior/senior level) — at least 40 units upper-division overall.
Residence requirement: a minimum number of units must be completed in residence at Sacramento State (rather than transferred or via exam)
