You must fill out and submit the official LL.M. application form, which is available on the California Western School of Law website. This form collects your personal information, academic history, professional background, and the program you are applying to. Accuracy and completeness are crucial, as missing information can delay the application review.

2. Official Transcripts

Applicants are required to provide official transcripts from all previously attended universities or law schools. Transcripts should demonstrate successful completion of a first law degree (JD or equivalent) and include details of courses, grades, and the degree awarded. If your transcripts are not in English, you’ll need to provide certified translations.

3. Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume

A detailed CV or resume is necessary to outline your educational qualifications, work experience, research publications, internships, and professional achievements. This document gives the admissions committee insight into your academic and professional background and your preparedness for advanced legal studies.

4. Personal Statement or Statement of Purpose

A personal statement is required in which you describe your motivation for pursuing an LL.M., your career goals, and how California Western School of Law aligns with your aspirations. This is your opportunity to highlight your unique experiences, legal interests, and the contributions you can bring to the program.

5. Letters of Recommendation

Typically, two or three letters of recommendation are required. These should be from professors, academic advisors, or professional supervisors who can attest to your legal skills, academic abilities, and character. Strong letters provide a credible endorsement of your suitability for the LL.M. program.

6. English Proficiency Test Scores (if applicable)

If English is not your first language, you must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores demonstrating proficiency in English. Minimum required scores may vary, but generally a TOEFL iBT score of 90+ or an IELTS score of 6.5+ is expected. This ensures you can succeed in an English-speaking academic environment.
