Completed personal essay and application (Common App or Canisius University App)
Transcripts from secondary school that list every course taken during the final four years of secondary school, from ninth to twelfth grade, together with the grades earned for each. English-certified original transcripts are required.
Since the ninth grade is considered high school in the United States, these transcripts are necessary. We understand that this could indicate that pupils are sending transcripts from their last year of lower secondary school.
They can only accept translated transcripts from NACES-accredited organizations if you are unable to offer an official translated copy of your transcript in English. To view a comprehensive list of authorized agencies, please click this page.
Two to three recommendation letters (at least one from a teacher or school counselor) and, if relevant, results from English Language Proficiency (ELP) tests. View the ELP Requirement WASSCE results, if any.
*Standardized test results are not required to be submitted by freshmen to Canisius University. To meet the English Language Proficiency criterion, students may opt to submit their results from standardized tests. To find out more about this need, see the link above.
