Cape Breton University was founded in 1951 as Xavier Junior College, 1968 as NSEIT, 1974 as College of Cape Breton and 2005 as Cape Breton University.

Scholarships

Cape Breton University offers nine major entrance scholarships based on the student’s average from high school. Students with a 90% average or greater are eligible for scholarships ranging in amount $10,000 to $24,000 over a four year period. Students taking a minimum of 24 credits are eligible for in course scholarships the following year depending on their academic performance.
