Central China Normal University History

Central China Normal University also known as CCNU or Huazhong Normal University is a Chinese university located in the city of Wuhan in Hubei province. The university was established in 1903 as Boone College which was subsequently merged and renamed to acquire its present name in 1985. At present, the university enrolls 22,000 students and employs 4000 plus staff.

Central China Normal University campus is located in Hongshan District in Wuhan, China. The university campus is based on the shores of South Lake on Guizi Hill and is spread over an area of 330 acres. The buildings cover an area of 896,293 square meters out which the library is spread over 39,689 square meters and houses over 2.9 million volumes.

Central China Normal University also issues ID cards to students which act as debit cards and can be used to purchase meals in the university canteen. The university campus houses various facilities such as computer labs, lecture halls, accommodation, and sports facilities to name a few.
