Established in 1892, the Central Michigan University is a public research university located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. It is one of the 100 largest public universities in United States of America. The university has more than 20,000 students on its Mount Pleasant campus and 7,000 students enrolled online at more than 60 locations across the world.

The university's neuroscience program was ranked first in the nation by the Society for Neuroscience. University also offers a number of student services including career services in the form of campus recruitments and internships. The school’s alternative break program is highly popular amongst students, allowing them to travel abroad over spring, winter, or summer break to study social issues throughout the world. CMU takes pride in their biological research on Beaver Island in the center of Lake Michigan, one of two university island research centers in the Midwest.
