China University of Geosciences History                                         

China University of Geosciences also known as CUG is a Chinese higher education institution located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The university was established in 1952 as Beijing Institute of Geology in Beijing and was moved to Wuhan in 1971. The university currently enrols over 26000 undergraduate and graduate students.

China University of Geosciences is based across two urban campuses in the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province, China. The university’s main campus is centrally located and houses the administrative headquarters. The newer campus is located in the Future Technology City outside the city center of Wuhan and houses ultra modern facilities for students.

China University of Geosciences offers a range of services to students which include lecture theatres and classrooms, research laboratories, libraries, student housing, and sports facilities. The campus is also home to the renowned Yifu Museum which comprises of mineral and rock specimens in addition to dinosaur fossils.

QS Top Universities also placed the university in 571-580 bracket in its World University Rankings. The university is also accredited by Ministry of Education of The People's Republic of China.

China University of Geosciences is home to 7 key national and provincial level laboratories which attract a number of researchers and doctoral students from all over the country. The university is also classified as one of few Chinese Ministry of Education Double First Class Discipline Universities.

China University of Geosciences also offers a number of scholarships to assist students with tuition fee costs in addition to a range of financial aid programs sponsored by the Chinese Government. The university has rigorous admission policies and has a low acceptance rate.
