Individual students are responsible for obtaining a student visa (D-2) from the Korean Consulate in their home country using the Letter of Acceptance from the university. A tourist visa is only valid for 90 days and cannot be extended. If your visa period of stay is shorter than your planned study period, do not be concerned as student visas can be extended without leaving Korea

For graduate program applications, obtaining a recommendation on Form 3-1 from a CBNU professor is a necessary procedure before submission. Students should carefully review the attachment guidelines available on the Office of International Services website for successfully receiving a Letter of Recommendation from faculty members

International students in graduate programs may qualify for Special Scholarships based on Korean language proficiency. Level B1 is awarded to students with TOPIK Level 5 or higher (Ao grade or higher), Level B2 for TOPIK Level 5 or higher (B+ grade or higher), and Level C for TOPIK Level 4 or higher (B+ grade or higher). Additionally, the BK21 Business Scholarship provides support of KRW 1 million per month for master's students and KRW 1.6 million per month for doctoral students, awarded based on research and educational achievements in the previous semester .

CBNU operates four dormitories: Yangseongjae (BTL), Yanghyeonjae, and the main dormitory buildings Gaeseongjae and Gyeongyeongwon. Yangseongjae consists of three buildings with two-person rooms featuring private bathrooms, fitness rooms, study rooms, laundry facilities, convenience stores, and a cafeteria, costing approximately KRW 1.1 to 1.3 million per semester including three meals daily. Yanghyeonjae offers two-person rooms with shared bathrooms, laundry facilities, and kitchen, costing approximately KRW 1.0 to 1.1 million per semester including meals. Yanghyeonjae was recently expanded from 168 to 474 capacity and accommodates both international and domestic students

Airport limousine buses depart from Gate 2B or 9A at the ground level exit of Incheon International Airport to Cheongju, operating approximately every 60 to 120 minutes from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. The fare is approximately KRW 12,400. Alternatively, travelers can go to Gangnam Express Bus Terminal and take an express bus to Cheongju. From Cheongju Bus Terminal, the university is about a 10-minute taxi ride costing approximately KRW 3,000 .

International students staying in Korea without a D-2 visa (such as those on visa-free entry, D-4, or D-10 status) can apply for a visa change. This also applies to students enrolling in a master's program after graduating from a Korean university, or enrolling in a doctoral program after obtaining a master's degree in Korea. CBNU organizes group visa change applications through the Office of International Services. Students can also apply individually online at www.hikorea.go.kr
