Saint Elizabeth University History
Saint Elizabeth University was previously known as the College of Saint Elizabeth. The university is based in Morris Township, New Jersey. It was founded in the year 1899 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. The university only had six students on opening day. The first President nominated was Sister Mary Pauline Kellar. In the preceding years, the university transformed by adding new courses. The university also expanded by adding more buildings. In 1921, the university was accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and to date, it has maintained its stature. In 2016, it was made a co-educational institution and started with undergraduate programs. Recently in 2020, the college was renamed Saint Elizabeth University after receiving university status. Today, the university is an internationally renowned university.
