Dalian Maritime University History

Dalian Maritime University was established in the year 1909. It is a public university which is situated in Dalian in People’s Republic of China. It was formed as a part of Shipping Management Section of Nanyang Institute and after the amalgamation of three maritime institutions in 1953. It was started as Dalian Marine College.

Dalian Maritime University Programs, Courses and Schools

Dalian Maritime University comprises of 14 colleges and departments. It offers bachelor’s, master’s (first class and second class) and doctoral (first class and second class) degree programs. Other courses include research, student exchange, language course, scholarship programs and specialisation courses.

It is equipped with professors, doctoral supervisors and world class leaders as faculties. It also offers continuing education, post doctoral courses, on-the-job master’s degree and high level talent programs. It is among the 6% universities of China to be designated with Project 211 institution.

Dalian Maritime University Campuses

Dalian Maritime University has an urban campus occupying an area of 1.13 million square meter. It has got beautiful campus with cafeteria, campus security, laundry room, training dock, labs, an ocean going training vessel, teaching port, planetarium, natatorium, swimming pool, sports facility and national research centre. It is the home to National Science and Technology Cooperation Base. There are various clubs and unions organising events and activities throughout the year.

University library has got departmental sections and has books, journals, study material, dissertations, research guides, periodicals and publications. Computer systems, sitting area, training centres, innovation rooms, tutorials, databases, study rooms and borrowing services are accessible.
