Delaware State University 

Delaware State University is a historically black public land-grant research university which is situated in Dover, Delaware, United States. Delaware State University was among the first historically black colleges and universities to implement a no-smoking policy. Delaware State University is classified as "R2: Doctoral Universities - High Research Activity."

Delaware State University History

The Delaware General Assembly established the Delaware College for Colored Students on May 15, 1891. State legislative action in 1893 changed the name to the State College for Colored Students to avoid confusion with Delaware College, which was attended by whites in Newark, Delaware. By legislative action three years later, the institution was renamed Delaware State College. Its accreditation was revoked in 1949, but it was restored in 1957. The institution's name was changed yet again on July 1, 1993, to Delaware State University.

Delaware State University is divided into four colleges: the College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology, the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences, the College of Business, and the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. Delaware State University offers 46 undergraduate degrees, 21 graduate degrees, and six doctoral degrees through these colleges. Several cooperative and dual degree programs are also available at the university.

According to U.S. News & World Report, in 2022 Delaware State University is ranked tenth among Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Delaware State University's College of Business was named to the Princeton Review's Best Business Schools list for the tenth time in 2018. (2009-2018).

 The 400-acre (1.6 km2) main campus of Delaware State University in Dover contains thirty buildings, including the Administration Building, Alumni Stadium, The Bank of America Building, Delaware Hall, The Education and Humanities Building & Theatre, The Mishoe Science Center, Price Building, Willam C. Delaware State University Housing services

    Housing services are provided by various on and off-campus residential halls at Delaware State University. On campus, there are five traditional residence halls and three apartment-style residence halls for upperclassmen. There is an apartment complex and a residential hall located off-campus. More than 1,500 on-campus students are served by two dining halls.

Delaware State University Medical services

  Campus Health Center provides medical services at Delaware State University. All full-time residential and commuter undergraduate students (12 credit hours or more) and full-time residential graduate students are eligible for health care at the Campus Health Center (6 credit hours or more). The Campus Health Center on campus provides access to medical professionals five days a week. You can get walk-in care at Urgent Care Centers and emergency care at the hospital in your neighbourhood.
