East China University of Science and Technology History

East China University of Science and Technology was established in the year 1952. It was formerly called East China Institute of Chemical Technology. It is the first institution that provided higher learning in the chemical field. With the chemical field it was also well known for material science and engineering. These three major fields were then recognized as the University’s prime disciplines of study.

East China University of Science and Technology Programs, Courses, and Schools

East China University of Science and Technology comprises of 16 colleges. The University offers courses across disciplines such as science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, literature, law, art, philosophy, education and other 11 disciplines. The University is well renowned for majors in the 5 disciplines of chemistry namely materials science, engineering, biology and biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology.

East China University of Science and Technology Campuses

East China University of Science and Technology holds its educational facilities across three campuses, Xuhui, Fengxian and Jinshan. The University boasts of a library that holds an enormous collection of 2, 84,000 volumes of periodicals and 3.094 million books. It comprises of national units for certifications like an analytical testing center and a jewelry testing center. The campuses are constructed in such a way that the departments are all at a fairly near distance to the gate. The green campuses provide a positive environment to all the students of the University.
