Egas Moniz offers students the opportunity to stay at Egas Moniz University Residence (RUEM). Inaugurated in 2010 and located on campus, this is a modern building especially designed for this purpose, offering 211 fully equipped rooms. The residence is an attractive, modern accommodation facility with inviting spaces appropriate for study and socialization. It includes private bathroom, water and electricity included in the rate, wardrobe, study table and air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave and basic equipment, TV socket, and free Internet access. There is weekly cleaning service of the rooms, daily cleaning of the common areas, concierge and security service 24 hours/day, an automatic fire detection system and fire fighting equipment, and parking. The RUEM also provides 1 room adapted for residents with reduced mobility and 6 suites for accommodation of teaching staff and visiting researchers, as well as for parents or family members of students who wish to visit them during weekends. Common areas include pantries/kitchens, laundry and self-service clothesline, leisure and rest areas, common rooms with televisions, an outdoor swimming pool, and study rooms.
