Federal University of Bahia History

The Federal University of Bahia is a public university located in the city of Salvador. It is the highest University of the state of Bahia. It was established in the year 1946.

Federal University of Bahia Programs, Courses, and Schools

The Federal University of Bahia offers 57 undergraduate courses, 82 post-graduate courses, and more than 100 postgraduate courses. The faculty is also divided in Faculty of Pharmacy, School of Fine Arts, School of Law, Polytechnique School, School of Economics, School of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters, School of Librarianship. The Central Teaching Hospital, the Schools of Architecture and Education, the School of Music and Scenic art, the School of Geology, the Institutes of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Health Sciences. The university has more than 1,768 academic staff, 27, 549 students including 24, 075 undergraduate students and 3,474 postgraduate students and 22, 705 other students.

The Federal University of Bahia, is one amongst the primary universities in Brazil, having locations throughout the capital of Bahia and one inside, in Vitória prosecuting attorney Conquista (south-west). In 2008, there were three campuses.

The Federal University of Bahia ranked 15 by national ranking in the year 2015. Students will study there without paying tuition fees because it is a public university. To join the university they must pass an annual examination, known as the "ENEM" (National High School Exam). The university has always been committed to its motto of “Virtue of the Spirit”.
