The Federal University of Espirito Santo has 4 campuses- in Goibeiras and Maruipe, Victoria, and in the Alegre. It also offers services in the health area through Cassiano Antonio Moraes University Hospital (Hucam), with care in different medical specialties, being a reference in care of medium and high complexity.

The Federal University of Espirito Santo, The Ph.D. student of the Postgraduate Computer Program (PPGI), FabianoRuy, and teachers Ricardo Falbo, Monalessa Barcellos, and Giancarlo Guizzardi received the Best Paper Award in the Artificial Intelligence and Agents category during the Symposium. Victorio Albani de Carvalho won Best Paper Award for the article “Extending the Foundations of Ontology-based Conceptual Modeling with a Multi-Level Theory” (Extending the Foundations of Ontology-based Conceptual Modeling with a Multi-Level) at the 34th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling 2015.

The Federal University of Espirito Santo, in Latin American and Caribbean universities, Ufes ranked 44th. In the ranking that considers only Brazilian universities, Ufes ranked 29th. The University also ranked 28th in the best university in Brazil according to Ranking Universities Folha. In 2018, the university was ranked 75th for the best research institution in Ibero- America by SCImago Institutions Ranking.
