Federal University of Minas Gerais History
The Federal University of Minas Gerais also known as UFMG or Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais is a Brazilian federal university located in Belo Horizonte in the state of Minas Gerais. The university was established in 1927 as University of Minas Gerais after the merger of Ouro Preto Faculty of Law, Free School of Dentistry, the Faculty of Medicine, and the School of Engineering subsequently adopting its present name in the 1960s.
