The Federal University of Parana River is a public university located in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. It was established in the year 1912 by Jose Francisco Da Rocha Pombo.

The Federal University of Parana, offers 124 undergraduate degree courses, 44 degrees, 66 masters and 5 skilled masters programs, excluding a variety of programs (mostly paid annual specializations) - see Higher-ed degrees in Brazil and provide 36 doctoral degrees. It also offers high school education through its Technical High School. The university also offers more than 2,328 academic staff, 3,759 administrative staffs and also 28, 048 undergraduate students and 8,658 graduate students.

The Federal University of Parana, so in Curitiba the campus are in Juveve, in Batel, in Centro, in Reitoria, in CienciasAgrarias/Cabral, Campus III/Centro Politecnico, Campus III/EscolaTecinca, Campus III/Jardim Botanic. The university has over 400,000 books and theses to boot as thousand of periodicals that, for now, cannot be accessed through its network, however, are in future.

Federal University of Parana, Laurentino Gomes was awarded by Jabuti for writer and journalist. At the Federal University of Paraná, the innovative capacity happens in the transversality of Teaching, Research, and Extension. For this, the UFPR academic community, through its continuous scientific production, makes this knowledge available to society as one of its main institutional objectives. The Innovation Agency has three coordinations: Intellectual Property; Technology transfer; Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation.
