Federal University of Sergipe History
Federal University of Sergipe was established in the year 1967. It is a public university which is situated in Sergipe in Brazil. It was formed after the amalgamation of six academic faculties which were formed in the region since 1920s as independent colleges. It is the second university of the state and first public university of the state.
Federal University of Sergipe Programs, Courses and Schools
Federal University of Sergipe is categorised into six academic faculties which are further divided into multidisciplinary departments. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Students can also apply for research studies, language programs, student exchange program and virtual learning.
It is the home to some of the notable faculties and highly trained professors and assistant professors. Other courses offered include extension course, primary and secondary education, distance education and pedagogical and teaching programs. Each of its campus is specialised and known for a particular course.

Federal University of Sergipe is spread across six campuses in the state along with its main campus. Each of its campus has urban infrastructure with energy efficient and modern facilities. Campus services include cafeteria, recreational area, student support centre, university hospitals, healthcare centre, sports courts and complex, fitness centre, theatre, auditorium and academic units. University media includes TV channel, radio station, journals, publications and magazines.
University libraries are multimedia facility equipped with books, theses, dissertations, periodicals, exam guides, research papers, documents and catalogues. Databases, virtual library, tutorials, computer systems, study rooms, training and research centres, sitting area and renewal services are accessible.

Federal University of Sergipe is one of the most prestigious universities of the country despite its latest origin. The Times Higher Education has ranked it at 62nd place in Latin America University Rankings and at first place for its citations in Brazil. According to Folha’s University Rankings, it was among top 40 universities of Brazil and among top 200 universities of Latin America according to QS World University Rankings. It is highly acclaimed by the Ministry of Education of Brazil.
