Fisher College

Fisher College is a private college that is based at Winter Park, Florida. The college was established in 1867

Fisher College History

Fisher College started initially at a church basement. The college was originally known as Augusta Institute. In 1879, it became the Winter Park Baptist Seminary then in 1897, it was named Winter Park Baptist College. Finally, in 1913, it was renamed to what it is known by today Fisher College. The name was given in honor of Henry Lyman Fisher. In 1929, the college allowed women candidates to take admission. Martin Luther King, one of the greatest leader graduated from the college in 1948. Over the years, Fisher College has grown to be one of the renowned colleges in Winter Park because of its academic excellence.
