Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Fisher College of Business

Admission to Ohio State University

First, students must be admitted to OSU. Declaring “Business” or a Fisher specialization on the OSU application is needed if seeking direct admission to Fisher.

For Freshmen / First-Year Students

Indicate intended major as “Business” on your OSU application to be considered for Fisher.

While specific high school curriculum / GPA thresholds aren’t always fixed, because OSU is selective, strong academic performance in high school is expected. (OSU considers the rigor of coursework, grades, etc.)

Transfer Students

Must complete at least 26 semester hours of college?level coursework post-high school graduation.

Must have transfer credit officially posted for Math 1131 or Math 1151 (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better.

Also need transfer credit for English 1110 (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better.

Minimum cumulative GPA (all colleges attended) of 3.10 to be considered for direct admission to Fisher.

“Major Program / Fisher Specialization” Application

After OSU admission, to enter Fisher’s major/specialization, students must meet certain internal criteria, e.g. in many cases, having completed foundational courses like calculus (Math 1131 etc.) and English with certain grade thresholds.

Admission to major is competitive and contingent on capacity, academic performance, and sometimes specialization choice.
