Fontys Venlo provides modern lecture halls, classrooms, and interactive learning spaces designed to support practical and student-centered education. The campus offers well-equipped teaching rooms where students participate in lectures, group discussions, and project-based learning activities. Small class sizes (around 30 students) allow better interaction with lecturers and personalized academic support. The campus is equipped with excellent computer facilities and digital learning infrastructure to support student education. Students have access to computer rooms, specialized software, and campus-wide high-speed wireless internet, allowing them to work on assignments, research, and academic projects anywhere on campus using their laptops or university systems. The campus includes a Student Service Center where students can receive administrative support, academic guidance, and help with enrolment or documentation. The university also provides study career managers and advisors who support students throughout their academic journey and help with personal and professional development.
Fontys Venlo offers a highly international student environment with students and staff from more than 50 nationalities, creating a diverse and multicultural campus atmosphere. Fontys Venlo has a dedicated Career Centre that connects students with more than 500 partner companies across the Netherlands and Germany. It supports you in finding internships, jobs, practice projects, and networking opportunities, and runs events such as Career Day, one of the largest career fairs in the region where 100+ companies meet students for internships, graduation projects, and job discussions. All students complete two integrated, six-month internships as part of their degree, which are arranged with support from the Career Centre and can be done in the Netherlands, Germany, or elsewhere. These placements help build professional experience and industry contacts before graduation. The Career Centre also provides an internal job portal where partner companies post internship and job opportunities specifically for Fontys students, and career advisors give guidance on CVs, interviews, and career planning.
The below information is required while
completing the university application :
International students must have a secondary school diploma equivalent to Dutch higher secondary education (HAVO/VWO level). Accepted qualifications include:
Senior high school diploma allowing bachelor admission in your country
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
A-levels, American High School Diploma (preferably with AP courses), or equivalent national diploma
Secondary school diploma with subjects such as Mathematics, Economics, or foreign language (depending on programme)
The diploma must be officially translated into English if issued in another language, and original documents must be provided during enrolment.
Since most bachelor programmes at Fontys Venlo are taught in English, international students must demonstrate English proficiency. Minimum accepted scores include:
IELTS: 6.0 overall
TOEFL iBT: 79–80
Cambridge English (CAE/FCE): 169 or higher
TOEIC: 670 or equivalent
CEFR level: B2 minimum
Students may be exempt if their previous education was fully taught in English or they are native English speakers.
International applicants must submit the following:
Secondary school diploma and academic transcripts
Proof of English language proficiency
Copy of passport or birth certificate
Official translations (if documents are not in English)
Proof of expected graduation (if diploma not yet completed)
Students must apply through the Dutch national application system called Studielink, after which Fontys will review the application and invite eligible students for enrolment.
