Frostburg State University is located in the beautiful Appalachian highlands of Western Maryland. Our Frostburg campus covers 260 acres in the city of Frostburg, a Historic Main Street community. Frostburg State University not only shares our hometown name of Frostburg but also is closely connected to all that our location offers our students for living and learning.

Libraries

The Library at Frostburg State University has had a home in several buildings on campus over the years, including Old Main, Lowndes Hall, and Framptom Hall. The current building was constructed in 1976 from the design of S. Russ Minter. In 1990, the Library was named for its principal benefactor, local businessman Lewis J. Ort. With its iconic sweeping arches, the Ort Library remains a centerpiece of the University campus.
