Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualifications: Applicants must possess a recognized bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification from a domestic or overseas institution.

Language Proficiency:

Chinese-taught Programs: Applicants are required to achieve HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above. Alternatively, those whose previous education was conducted in Chinese may present a teaching language certificate from their previous university as a substitute. Graduates from private Chinese independent middle schools in Malaysia (recognized by the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia) are not required to present an HSK certificate.

English-taught Programs: Applicants are required to achieve a score of 80 or above in TOEFL iBT or a score of 6.0 or above in IELTS Academic. Those whose previous education was conducted in English may present a teaching language certificate from their previous university as a substitute. Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from submitting proof of English proficiency.

Required Application Documents

Application Form: Completed Fuzhou University Application Form for International Students.

Passport: Scanned copy of the passport’s first page (valid until a date after December 30, 2025).

Academic Credentials:

Scanned copies of notarized graduation certificates (bachelor's degree or equivalent) and degree certificates or pre-graduation certificates.

Scanned copies of the full set of notarized transcripts for undergraduate studies. The transcripts shall bear the university’s official seal.

Language Proficiency Certificates: TOEFL, IELTS, or HSK scores, as applicable.

Recommendation Letters: Two recommendation letters from faculty members with the designation of full professor or associate professor.

Physical Examination Form: Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form, valid within six months.

Financial Support Documents:

Financial Support Guarantee Statement.

Supporting documents proving sufficient funds to cover tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and travel.

Certificate of No Criminal Record: Issued within six months prior to application.

Photograph: Recent 2-inch electronic photo.

Application Deadline

General Deadline: March 15, 2025.

Chinese Government Foreign Student Scholarship “High-Level Postgraduate” Program: Applicants must complete the online application and send the paper application by February 15, 2025. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
