The college was founded in the year 1829 as the first Baptist College. The college was founded by the Kentucky Baptist Education Society. The college saw various changes over the years under the presidentship of different leaders. The college expanded its administration by adding more courses and programs. Georgetown College was established to be one of the finest Christian colleges and the college has always maintained its standard. Today, the college has 1566 students with a 12:1 student-faculty ratio.
