HIC offers vocational courses at the certificate and diploma levels. Prospective students should note that HIC does not offer bachelor’s or master’s degree programs. Admission requirements for HIC’s vocational courses are as follows:
General Admission Requirements:
1. Application Form: Complete the official HIC application form, ensuring all sections are filled out accurately.
2. Supporting Documentation:
• Academic Transcripts: Provide certified copies of your academic records, including any relevant certifications or diplomas.
• English Proficiency Evidence: Submit proof of English language proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL scores, or evidence of previous studies conducted in English.
• Work History: If applicable, include details of your work experience relevant to the course you are applying for.
• Passport Copy: A clear copy of your current passport.
3. English Language Proficiency:
• Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through one of the following:
• IELTS: A minimum overall score of 5.5.
• TOEFL: Equivalent scores as per HIC’s English proficiency requirements.
• PTE Academic: Equivalent scores as per HIC’s English proficiency requirements.
• Alternatively, successful completion of an English language course approved by HIC.
4. Mature Age Entry:
• Applicants aged 21 or over who do not meet standard academic requirements may be considered based on relevant work experience. This includes:
• At least two years of documented professional work experience related to the intended course of study.
• Evidence detailing the nature and duration of the work, level of responsibility, and references from employers.
5. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
• Applicants can apply for RPL if they believe their prior learning and experience align with the course outcomes. This process assesses previous formal and informal learning to potentially reduce the study duration.

2. Assessment:
• The Student Administration team will assess the application against the entry requirements. Incomplete applications or those lacking necessary documentation may face delays.
3. Offer Letter:
• Successful applicants will receive a Letter of Offer detailing the course, fees, and other pertinent information.
4. Acceptance:
• To accept the offer, applicants must:
• Sign the Enrolment Agreement.
• Provide a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement or Statement of Purpose (SOP).
• Pay the enrolment fee of AUD 1,000.
5. Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE):
• Upon receiving the signed agreement, GTE/SOP, and enrolment fee, HIC will issue a CoE, which is required for student visa applications.
