Heidelberg University is a private university which was established in 1386. The university is located in Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It was the third university established in the Holy Roman Empire. The university is Germany's oldest university and one of the world's surviving universities. The university has three campuses; the old campus, Neuenheimer Feld, and Bergheim Campus.

Heidelberg University comprises 12 Faculties; Faculty of Behavioral Sciences and Empirical Cultural Sciences, Faculty of Biosciences, Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in Mannheim, Faculty of Modern Languages, Faculty of Philosophy and History, Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, and Faculty of Theology. The university has 3 Centers; Krammes Service Center and Owen Academic, Career Support Center, and Saurwein Health and Wellness Center. The university also comprises five schools; School of Business, Computer Science, and Information Technology, School of Communication, Humanities, & the Arts, School of Behavioral Sciences & Education, School of Music & Theatre, and the School of Natural Sciences & Allied Health Sciences. 

Heidelberg University comprises more than 31,200 students, which include 15,300 Undergraduate students, 15,900 Graduate students and 3,000 Doctoral students.

Heidelberg University has a Library which provides access to information for research and learning to the university community; maintains a welcoming learning environment; preserves the history of the University. The university offers a broad variety of athletics, such as teams in 16 different court sports from American football to volleyball, courses in different martial arts, 26 courses in physical fitness and bodybuilding, 9 courses in health sports from aqua power to yoga, and groups in 12 different dance styles.
