The below information is required while
completing the university application :
Applicants must take the Entrance Examination for Privately Financed International Students administered by Hitotsubashi.
International applicants (non-Japanese) must typically satisfy these test requirements:
• EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) — in subjects such as Japanese as a Foreign Language, Japan & the World, Mathematics I.
• TOEFL iBT (or another English test) — e.g. a score of 48 or above is a minimum accepted baseline.
Additionally, applicants take Hitotsubashi University’s own Japanese language exam.
The selection is based on a comprehensive evaluation of exam results (EJU + university exam), submitted documents (transcripts, etc.), and possibly other criteria.
Some faculties do not have special examination paths for international students; those applicants must apply via the same process as Japanese students (i.e., sit the same entrance examinations).
