Humboldt University of Berlin is a public university which was established in the year 1810. The university is located in Berlin, Germany and the oldest of Berlin's four universities. It was also regarded as the world's preeminent university for the natural sciences. The University has five campuses: Campus Mitte, Campus Nord, Campus Adlershof and the main campus

Humboldt University of Berlin comprises nine faculties: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Theology, and Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.  The university also comprises of around twenty departments, a Centre for British Studies, Berlin School of Mind and Brain, as well as a  medical school shared with the Free University of Berlin. The university is also considered one of the best universities in Europe as well as one of the most prestigious universities in the world for arts and humanities.

Humboldt University of Berlin has more than 32,553 Students, which include 18,712 Undergraduate students, 2,951 Doctoral students, and 10,881 Graduate students. The university has more than 2,403 Faculty members. 

Humboldt University of Berlin provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university comprises a library which includes 6 million printed books and journals together with digital knowledge resources including 200,000 e-books, 16,000 e-journals and 200 databases and digital objects which can be searched and used down to item level. These also include the stocks of the two ‘Higher Education’ and ‘Folklore and Ethnology’ DFG special collections.
