In 1787 Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences was founded. The university was created by collaborating with the agricultural vocational education institutions by the Provisional National Government Decree. The first rector of the university was Professor Géza Doby.

Yes, MATE offers on-campus dormitory housing at both its Gödöllő and Budapest campuses. However, availability is limited, and priority is given to scholarship students such as those under Stipendium Hungaricum, SCYP, or FAO.
Non-scholarship students can apply for housing, but accommodation is not guaranteed. The typical application deadline is July 20th. MATE also provides assistance in finding off-campus housing if needed.
Dormitory rooms at the Gödöllő campus include double and quadruple rooms, while the Budapest campus offers double rooms only. Rooms are furnished with basic furniture, and students should bring their own bedding and towels. Shared kitchens and a campus restaurant are usually available for residents.
