IADE – Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication distinguishes itself through its long-standing focus on design, creativity, technology and communication, having pioneered design education in Portugal since its foundation in 1969. Its distinctive strength is an interdisciplinary approach that connects creative disciplines with emerging technologies, allowing students to work across areas such as design, visual arts, communication, marketing, photography, computing and engineering. IADE also places strong emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning, supported by specialised facilities such as 3D, Media, Print and Technology laboratories. Its Oriente Green Campus in Lisbon, opened in 2025, further strengthens this model by bringing creative, technological and collaborative learning environments together in a purpose-designed campus.
