International students on F-1 visas who have completed one academic year of full-time study may be eligible for CPT, which allows them to participate in paid internships or co-ops that are integral to their academic program. Indiana Tech's Career Center works with international students to identify qualifying opportunities and guide them through the CPT application process with the Designated School Official (DSO).
International students who have completed their degree at Indiana Tech may apply for up to 12 months of OPT, which allows them to work in their field of study in the United States. Students in STEM-designated programs may be eligible for a 24-month OPT extension. Indiana Tech's international student services office assists graduating students with the OPT application process, including required documentation and timelines for submission to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
