The below information is required while
completing the university application :
1. Applicants must first have a school leaving qualification that is recognized as equivalent to the German higher education entrance qualification.
2. If the qualification is from outside Germany, it must be checked for equivalency, usually through Uni Assist, and in some cases students who do not meet direct entry requirements may need to complete a Studienkolleg before starting their bachelor’s degree.
3. A strong requirement for most bachelor programs is proof of German language proficiency, since many undergraduate courses are taught in German.
4. Typically accepted levels include DSH 1 / DSH 2 or TestDaF, and in some cases equivalent certificates such as Goethe B2/C1 or telc C1 Hochschule. Some programs may require higher levels depending on academic difficulty.
5. Students must also ensure that their educational background allows access to German higher education, verified through official databases like anabin. If direct admission is not possible, completion of a preparatory course is required before applying to the degree program.
