What are the application deadlines for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs at Karlshochschule?

For EU applicants, the application deadline is September 1 for both Bachelor's and Master's programs, possibly later. For non-EU applicants who already have an existing visa for Germany, the deadline is July 15. For non-EU applicants without an existing German visa, the deadline is also July 15, depending on the visa process of their home country.

What documents are required for the application?

Applicants must submit an online application, proof of university entrance qualification (HZB), general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, a recognized equivalent foreign educational certificate, and for English-language Bachelor’s programs, proof of English skills at level C1. For Master's programs, additional requirements include a letter of motivation, CV, copies of Bachelor's degree certificate and final transcript, abstract of the bachelor's thesis, and proof of English language skills at level C1.

Does Karlshochschule offer any scholarships?

Yes, for the start of studies in September 2026, Karlshochschule is awarding partial scholarships exclusively for participants of the "FSJ-Kultur" (Voluntary Social Year in Culture) program. With this scholarship, EU applicants pay only €400 per month, and international students pay €600 per month.

How are students selected for scholarships?

The selection of scholarship recipients is based on academic performance, knowledge of the host university's language of instruction, motivation, social and intercultural competence, as well as involvement within and outside the university.

What are the average living costs for a student in Karlsruhe?

As a student in Karlsruhe, you should expect living costs for housing, food, transportation, etc. to average approximately €750 per month.
