What services does the KEA International Office provide for international students?

The KEA International Office offers support with applications, visas, housing, integration activities, and ongoing personal and academic guidance to international students throughout their studies. The office also organizes orientation weeks, Danish culture courses, language classes, and social events to help students settle in and connect with peers.

Does KEA have partnerships with universities abroad for student exchanges?

Yes, KEA has numerous partnerships with universities worldwide. The International Office helps coordinate both outgoing and incoming exchange opportunities, allowing students to study abroad as part of their programme and welcoming international exchange students to KEA.

How do international students apply to KEA?

Applications are handled online via the KEA website. The International Office assists applicants with document preparation, understanding requirements, and meeting deadlines. All applicants must have passed English at a level equivalent to a Danish Upper Secondary education B-level.

What are the application deadlines for international students?

For EU/EEA students without a qualifying Danish AP degree, the application deadline is 15 March at 12:00 noon CET for summer intake and 15 October for winter intake. Applicants must have an education equivalent to a Danish upper secondary education, with Mathematics B and English B included for most programmes.

Does KEA provide housing for international students?

KEA assists in finding accommodation in Copenhagen but does not own student housing. The International Office provides advice and guidance on housing options. Students are strongly advised to start looking for accommodation months before arrival, as it can be very difficult to find housing right before the semester begins.

What types of student accommodation are available in Copenhagen?

Student housing in Copenhagen typically consists of dormitories (kollegium) with single or double furnished rooms, private bathrooms, shared kitchens, and recreation facilities. KEA assists international students through its rental partner Basecamp, and the International Office provides guidance on various housing options available in the city.

Can international students stay in Denmark after graduation to look for work?

Yes, international students who hold a residence permit as a student in a Danish professional bachelor, bachelor, master or PhD programme and have completed their educational programme can be granted a residence permit for up to 3 years for job seeking in Denmark.

What are the work conditions during the job-seeking period in Denmark?

During the job-seeking period, graduates can work up to 90 hours per month and full-time in June, July, and August. The job-seeking permit gives the same right to work as the limited work permit received with the student residence permit. The permit is not localized to a specific employer, so graduates can work for any employer in Denmark.
