Knox’s undergraduate admission criteria are well documented. Key requirements and policies include:
Applicants may apply via the Common Application, the Coalition Application, or Knox’s own application.
There is no application fee for first-year students.
Required documents include:
• Secondary School Report and official high school transcript(s)
• Teacher Evaluation / Recommendation (from a teacher in an academic subject)
• Mid-Year Report (an updated transcript with fall grades)
Knox publishes that they “consider” but do not require ACT / SAT scores (i.e. test-optional policy).
High school coursework guidelines: Knox encourages applicants to complete rigorous college preparatory courses, typically including:
• 4 years of English
• 3–4 years of mathematics
• 3–4 years of science
• 3–4 years of social studies
• 2–4 years of a foreign language
Knox strongly recommends an interview with an admissions counselor (though not required in all cases).
For international applicants, additional requirements include:
• Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) — e.g. TOEFL iBT ≥ 80, IELTS ≥ 6.5, Duolingo ≥ 115.
• Submission of comparable standardized test scores (SAT, GCE, IGCSE etc.) may also be considered.
• Knox may waive the English test in certain scenarios (e.g., U.S. high school attendance, English interview, or certain curricula).
Knox also expects strong academic performance: the average GPA of admitted students is around 3.62 (on a 4.0 scale) based on external data sources.
Knox’s typical admitted SAT score range (for those who submit) is ~1220–1420, and ACT range ~21–32.
