Kunming University of Technology was established in the year 1954. It is a public university which is situated in Yunnan Province in Southwestern China. Its roots were kept in 1925. It was started as Kunming Institute of Technology and later merged with Yunnan Polytechnic University to form the present university.

Kunming University of Science and Technology is organised into 29 academic schools consisting of different departments of study. It offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs to the students. Other courses available are post-doctorate, preparatory, continuing education, vocational training, language courses and study abroad program.
It has got highly skilled faculties. Its courses namely engineering, material science and chemistry are known worldwide. It offers more than 300 degree programs in various disciplines.

Kunming University of Science and Technology has got three campuses. It covers an area of 120 acres and is known for the facilities like campus security, huge athletic fields, gym, stadium, recreational areas, cultural centre, innovation labs, research centres and swimming pool.
