Apply via Common Application, Coalition Application, or Knox’s own application.
There is no application fee for first-year applicants.
Required documents:
• Secondary School Report and official high school transcript(s) from your school or counselor.
• Teacher Evaluation / Recommendation (from a teacher in an academic subject area).
• Mid-Year Report: updated transcript including fall grades when they become available.
Optional / recommended elements:
• Interview with an admissions counselor (on campus, regional, phone, or online) — strongly recommended.
• SAT or ACT scores may be submitted but are optional; Knox considers them only if you choose to send them.
High school coursework / rigor is important; Knox looks at the types and difficulty of courses taken (honors, AP, IB) along with the grades earned.
International applicants must submit additional materials:
• Official secondary school transcripts.
• English proficiency test scores, unless waived under certain conditions. Accepted tests include TOEFL (iBT ≥ 80), IELTS (≥ 6.5), Duolingo (≥ 115).
• Knox may waive the English proficiency requirement in some cases (e.g. if you’ve attended a U.S. high school for at least 3 years).
For transfer students, Knox requires official transcripts from prior colleges/universities, and will also review high school record if fewer than a certain number of credits have been completed.
Knox’s average admitted high school GPA is around 3.62.
For students submitting test scores, the middle 50% SAT range is 1195–1368; ACT range is roughly 21–30.
Knox’s acceptance rate is about 71%.
Suggested minimum GPA: Some sources list a 2.5 GPA as a baseline for consideration, though higher GPAs improve competitiveness.
