The Lappeenranta University of Technology also known as LUT or Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology is based in Lappeenranta, Finland. The university dates back to 1969 when the Finnish government established the University of Eastern Finland in Lappeenranta which was spread over three campuses. The university adopted its current name after faculties of technology and business merged.

The Lappeenranta University of Technology comprises of three schools offering various programs in business and technology. The LUT School of Energy Systems offers courses in Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, Sustainability Science, and Mechanical Engineering. LUT School of Engineering Sciences’ programs includes Chemical Engineering, Computational Engineering and Physics, Industrial Engineering and Management, and Software Engineering and Digital Transformation. The LUT School of Business Management offers programs in Strategy, Management and Accounting, and International Business, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship.
The Lappeenranta University of Technology is also home to three research centres regarded as hubs of research and development in Finland. They are Centre for Separation Technology (CST), Carelian Drives and Motor Centre (CDMC), and Centre of Computational Engineering and Integrated Design (CEID).
